Last summer I had an extremely good experience buying my living room furniture from Mill Stores, somewhere near Medford, Massachusetts.
Coffee Table - $70
Dining Table - $100 (with a leaf you can take out and make the table shorter)
Side Tables - $35 each
Add a little Wood Stain / Polyurethane and you've got yourself an inexpensive, beautiful living room.
Oh and the love seat I got on Criagslist for $300 - Some guy in Brooklyn. It's from a Jennifer Leather set.
The rug, and everything else, is from IKEA. The artwork (was) my fathers.
